Upcoming meetings:
January Guild Meeting - Tuesday, January 9 at 6:30pm
You won’t want to miss January’s guest speaker, Mary Zesiger! A serious quilter since 1980, she began judging in 1996 and enjoys the challenge of competing on all levels from local to international. She will be sharing how to prepare for quilt shows and judging, plus show and tell her quilts. Learn more about this guild meeting on our calendar here.

Join the Crayon Challenge by stopping by the challenge table to choose your 3 random crayons from the bag! Then, create a quilted project using those colors to be judged for first, second, and third place prizes at our February meeting. View challenge details here.

February Guild Meeting – Tuesday, February 13 at 6:30pm
Shari Brindley, MVQG member and owner of Sharing Stitches, will take us on a trip down memory lane that will help us create through our joys and grief. Winter can be a perfect opportunity to heal and remember our loves. For many it is a sad or lonely season. Shari has bright thoughts to help with both of those.

Plus, don’t forget to bring your entry for our Crayon Challenge to be judged by the members of the MVQG! Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place. If any time remains, we will have 'show and tell'.

Board Meeting:
Date and Time: February 8 at 6pm.
Location: Wingard Building 492 W 2nd St, Xenia Oh 45387
Members are welcome to attend.

From the President:
Happy New Year! My name is Melody Hightower and I joined the guild when I began quilting 6 years ago. This guild has been a very special place. I have made great friends and learned so many things, like the importance of an accurate 1/4-inch seam! (Still working on that one)

It's an honor to serve as your president. Thank you for all the words of encouragement. It means so much! I look forward to getting to know each of you a little better in the coming year. :)

Happy Quilting! – Melody H, President

From the Vice President:
Happy New Year to you and yours! We have a fun filled year planned for 2024! This month, Pat will be taking signups for our workshops with Deb Porter in March and Linda Hahn in April. Be sure to get to the meeting early to sign up, so we can start with our speaker on time!

View our calendar on the website for details on upcoming lectures and workshops this year here. With the first half of the year planned, mark your calendars and sign up to have fun and learn something new with us! If you have ideas about ways to help our programs, please call or email me.

I am so grateful for an amazing year in our guild – grateful for your ideas and help, to Pat Hayes for volunteering to help make my job easier, to our members and the board/committee members for their time and commitment. I'm mostly grateful for our group of wonderful women who empower and promote each other! 2024 is going to be filled with even more fun and friends!

Mary Ann C., Vice President

2024 Quilt Show
Can you believe the quilt show is only 5 months away! Be sure to get started on your entries if you have procrastinated or finish them up with time to spare if you planned ahead.

Volunteers are needed in April at the One Stop Shop Hop to sell raffle tickets at our table. The shop hop is April 12 from 9am to 5pm and April 13 from 9am to 3pm.

We’re collecting scraps, 5-inch squares or larger! As many of us are decluttering right now after the holiday, start putting those scraps to the side for us, if you haven't already. Sheila will start collecting scraps for Scrap City starting this January meeting. I have personally witnessed people making a mad dash to Scrap City upon opening of the show, so we certainly don't want to disappoint.

We will continue to share more information as we get closer, and sign-ups will start soon for all the potential ways to help/volunteer.

Thanks, Emilie T, Quilt Show Chair
