MVQG Executive Board and Committees The Miami Valley Quilters' Guild is led by an executive board to manage the guild and ensure the bylaws are followed. The guild is also comprised of many committees to help the various aspects needed to run a quilt guild. Learn more about each of our committees below. Committee Chair: Debbie B. About: Membership is responsible for collecting dues and passing on money to the treasurer. Additionally they issue membership cards, welcome packets to new members and name badges. They also maintain an accurate membership list and printing a directory annually, and are meeting and greeting members and guests at each meeting while ensuring everyone signs in.
Committee Chair: Lindsay N. About: Communications is responsible for sharing news throughout the guild via the guild’s Facebook page, monthly newsletter, and website. News is collected from the board members, committee chairs, and members. Advertising is responsible to soliciting advertising partners from quilting related businesses around the region. This includes maintaining agreements and contact information, collecting payments and passing money on to the treasurer, and submitting logo and business information to communications to be added to website.

Committee Chair: Connie M. About: Hospitality is responsible for organizing food and special events throughout the year during monthly meetings. Hospitality maintains proper records for receipts to submit to the treasurer for reimbursement.
Committee Chair: Barb W. About: Sunshine helps bring a bit of sunshine to guild members or their immediate families by sending expressions of sympathy and get-well wishes in a timely manner on behalf of the guild during times of need, such as sickness, loss of a loved one or could just use a little cheer. This is a gesture put in place to spread sunshine to our members and will be kept private.

Committee Chair: Patty H. About: The Quilts of Valor (QOV) program within the Miami Valley Quilters’ Guild is part of the Quilts of Valor Foundation, a national organization that began in 2003 with the mission to cover Service Members and Veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor. QOV is responsible for fulfilling requests around the area that come in locally and nationally with Quilts of Valor. Learn more about our Quilts of Valor program here.
Committee Chair: Carol G. About: The Community Quilts program is another way the Miami Valley Quilters’ Guild supports the needs of the Miami Valley and beyond! Community Quilts is responsible for coordinating with local organizations to understand the need and deliver completed quilts as donations are received. Committee Chair: Karen P. and Melody H. About: Each year, the Miami Valley Quilters’ Guild hosts a wonderful 3-day retreat over Presidents’ Day weekend in February. Quilt Retreat is resonsible for coordinating subcommittee for the needed areas of planning for the annual retreat, maintaining budget and working with the Treasurer to ensure all expenses are recorded. Committee Chair: *Looking for 2026 Quilt Show Chair* About: Every other year, the Miami Valley Quilters’ Guild hosts a 2-day quilt show showcasing over 200 quilts and special exhibits, all made by guild members! As our biggest fundraiser, it takes many members to pull all the details together. The Quilt Show Chair is responsible for coordinating subcommittees for various areas of planning for the show, maintaining a budget and ensuring all expenses are recorded.
