Just a reminder about our upcoming meeting on September 14. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. We have received permission to use both the Vet Hospital and The Dock parking lots for overflow parking. Ann Loveless will be the speaker at this meeting. Reminder that when there is a national speaker there is no Show and Tell.
Retreat Registrations Watch for Retreat Registration Packets to be emailed to you by 4 p.m. on September 14. We will have a few hard copies of the packets at the guild meeting for those who are unable to print from home. Once you receive your packets, you may mail in registration forms to Carol Gibson. Her address is on the registration form. Actual in-person registrations will not begin until the October 12 meeting and we will open doors at 6 p.m., an hour earlier than regular time. Quilt Show Announcement Kim Gros has booked the conference room at the Fairborn Library for Saturday, October 16, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. This is to work on the quilt raffle quilt. No sewing needed!!! She will have fabric markers and she just needs people willing to carefully color in the pre-quilted blocks. Kim will have sign-up sheets available at the September guild meeting. Walk-ins are welcome but would rather people sign-up in case we get bumped from the meeting room. See you at the September meeting. Sherry G, President

News from the Vice President at the Fat Quarter Corner (just a few inches shy of a complete yard!)9/2/2021 Hello to Everyone!
September’s meeting features world class landscape quilter Ann Loveless from northern Michigan. If you do not know much about Ann, you might want to take a look at her website, www.quiltsbyann.com. At her website you can see many of the different types of quilts Ann is famous for. She exhibits at many shows, and was the 2013 and 2015 first place winner of Artprize in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Ann developed three main styles of landscape quilts: Collage Quilts (which she taught to our guild several years ago), Mosaic Quilts, and Impressionistic Quilts (this year’s workshop). Don’t miss the September meeting where you will learn about her techniques and see many of her designs. We still have a few spaces open for her workshop on Wed. Sept. 15. Just a reminder that we will have no show and tell at the September meeting. Non-members who wish to attend Ann’s lecture will be charged $10. Bring some extra money to purchase some of Ann’s goodies. Upcoming meetings: A national speakers and teachers In October, Sharon McConnell will join us from Color Girl Quilts to present a lecture and trunk show. Sharon creates quilt patterns, presents sewalongs, and runs her own shop. More about Sharon in my next note to the guild. Coming in November is a lecture and trunk show by Nancy Mahoney. Nancy Mahoney will present a trunk show and teach two workshops. Her “Wild Waves” workshop is filled with a waiting list, but you can still sign up to take her “Twisted Triangles” class. Both classes are sure to be most entertaining and instructive. December will be our traditional carry in.
