COMMUNITY QUILT PROJECTS
The Community Quilts program is another way the Miami Valley Quilters’ Guild supports the needs of the Miami Valley and beyond! From projects like cinch bags and quilts, to making masks during the pandemic or quilts during tornados, our guild members are ready to help! We support various organizations around the region such as  Hospice of Dayton, Ronald McDonald House, and more.

Interested in getting involved with Community Quilts? Contact us today! Any quilts ready for donation can also be brought to our committee chair, Carol, at our monthly guild meetings.

2024 Impact

In 2024, we donated 220 quilts to the following organizations:
  • Hospice of Dayton: 95
  • Jeramiah’s Letter (before they closed): 50
  • F.I.S.H. of Northmont: 15
  • Ronald McDonald House: 30
  • Brigid's Path: 30

Tornado Victims Helped

Twenty 20 quilts were donated in December 2021 to the relief effort for the tornado victims in Kentucky. Bill's Donuts in Centerville, working with a local church, collected items which have been taken to Kentucky. I know we usually try to keep the quilts to help locally but I felt that the need in hard hit Kentucky was greater this time.

Hospice

On August 12, 2021 Carol delivered 42 quilts to Hospice of Dayton. They give a quilt to each person that is admitted and the families will keep them after their loved one passes. Thank you to Lois N. for putting Carol in touch with that facility. Also, thank you to Priscilla A. She made most of the quilts we donated. Hospice has an ongoing need for finished lap size quilts (approx. 42").  If you would like to donate a quilt, you can get in touch with Carol by clicking on the email icon at the bottom of the page or see Carol at our monthly guild meetings.
