MEETING REMINDER
A reminder that Nancy Mahoney will be our guest speaker at the November guild meeting. No fee for members but guests will need to pay $10 at the door. Nancy Mahoney's presentation will begin at 7 p.m. For more information see the Vice President News below. Gorby, President SCRAPTACULAR BLOCK PARTY RETREAT We will take retreat registrations beginning at 6 p.m. on November 9 but will stop taking any additional registrants at 7 p.m. To entice you to join us at our next retreat, we added a new game along with the Left/Right/Center and the Bobbin games. Also, for those who want to participate, we will have a scrappy block to make (maybe two) and then a drawing for someone to win them all. There are more surprises but we don't want to give everything away. Looks like we have 20 more places left to fill so please consider joining us. Gorby, Retreat Chair FOOD FOR RETREAT Food order is ready. Go to Retreat tab for a copy of the form. This is optional! Barb or Susan will be at the guild meetings to take your orders or you could mail them in to address listed on the form. QUILT SHOW RAFFLE QUILT We will be meeting at the Fairborn Library on Saturday, November 20th from 10 to 2 to work on the raffle quilt again. Please let Kim Gros know if you are interested in attending. Call her at 937-361-8077 or [email protected] COMMUNITY QUILT NEWS Carol will be donating another 30 quilts to Hospice this week. In addition, she is taking 30 quilts to Jeremiah's Letter. Jeramiah's Letter is an organization that works with those who are homeless and finds them a place to stay. They were very excited to receive our donation and promised to put them to good use. VICE PRESIDENT PROGRAM NEWS I don’t know about the rest of you, but I learned a lot, and I do mean a lot, from Sharon McConnell of Color Girl Quilts. Sharon would love to return some time to take part in one of our sew-ins that we occasionally have. We will have to keep Sharon in mind. Also, at the November meeting you can sign up for the Reeze Hanson and Sandi Blackwell workshops. More information is on the website: MVQG Programs Upcoming meetings for remainder of the year: Nancy Mahoney and the December Carry-In. November brings Nancy Mahoney with a trunk show and two workshops. Her “Wild Waves” workshop is filled up, but you can still sign up for her “Twisted Triangles” workshop. You should be able to find all the information on our website, but if you have a question about Nancy or her workshops, feel free to write Mary Lou at [email protected]. If you are not familiar with Nancy Mahoney, you might want to take a look at her website. She is not only an international publisher of patterns, teacher of workshops, and speaker at quilt guilds, but she also has a youtube channel, videos and free patterns on her website, and great information for beginners and experienced quilters. Just go to nancymahoney.com and lose yourself in her expertise. You won’t be sorry. NO Show and Tell at this meeting. December will be our Traditional Carry-In and Show and Tell. Please note that all guests must pay a $10 fee to attend the November meeting and each meeting that has a national speaker. Go to the Guild's website at mvqgohio.com to see full speaker and workshop schedule for 2021-2022. Mary Lou M., Vice President
