News from Vice President
Sharon Resvick was a pleasure to have at our guild meeting last month; I was told numerous times how much people enjoyed her presentation.
On Tuesday, August 9, Catherine Redford will present the program, Trip Around the World in Folk Art Stitches. Then on Wednesday, August 10, Catherine will offer the class: Steps to Successful Free Motion Quilting - 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Enon Church. Fees: Guild Members - $35, Non-Guild Members - $45 - Kit Fee $10 (purchased from Catherine on the day of class).
Tuesday, September 13, Gyleen X. Fitzgerald, quilter and writer, will give her presentation: Path to Modern. On Wednesday, September 14, Gyleen will teach her Caribbean Star 2 class from
9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Cost - Guild Members - $45, Non-Guild Members - $50. There is also a pattern fee and required tool; both may be purchased from Gyleen.

There are openings for both Catherine’s and Gyleen's classes. Please remember our new policy pertaining to workshop/class cancellations.

There will be no show and tell for August and September due to our speakers.

Looking ahead to our October meeting. It would be great to have you, our talented guild members, share some easy and fun Christmas gift ideas. Please send me an email at mvqgvp22@gmail.com if you would like to participate in a short demo. Show and tell will return at this meeting.

EXTRA! EXTRA!
SHARING STITCHES IS EXPANDING
Sharing Stitches has moved from Shari’s home to a commercial building with an elevator. Woohoo, no more stairs to climb unless you want to.
The new location is 492 W. Second St., Suite 201, in Xenia.
Not only do they offer longarm rental and custom quilting, but they are continually adding fabric by the bolt, pre-cuts, batting and notions.
In keeping with their philosophy of making quilting fun, affordable and educational, they are expanding and adding a classroom. Their first class will be a bottle gift bag.  Perfect time to get started for Christmas gifts or any occasion depending on the fabric. The quiltsmart interfacing to make the bag is included in the cost of the class. The cost is only $40. Held on Saturday, August 20, at 10 a.m. You can contact them at sharing.stitches@yahoo.com, (937)479-8343, www.sharingstitches.com, sharingstitches on facebook or they’d love for you to stop by and visit.
Leanne and Shari are looking forward to your visit.
