Hello Miami Valley Quilters' Guild!
 
This month we will have our annual quarter auction/basket raffle. If you signed up to bring a basket, please try to have it there by 6:00. Connie M is coordinating refreshments. She'd love for you to bring your favorite fall dessert or snack. Drinks will be provided. Bring a roll or two of quarters and a friend and join the fun.
 
It's going to be a full evening, so we'll plan for an extended show and tell in December. Bring your quilts and stories to share then. It's also time for annual elections of board members. Thank you to all who have served in the guild. We appreciate all of you and the work that you do and have done to make the guild a success. The Christmas mitten block challenge is still in progress. If you didn't get the template last month, they'll be available at the meeting. The blocks will be collected and raffled at the December Christmas party.
 
Thank you to everyone who filled out the survey. We've had amazing feedback and suggestions. We are still collecting those so feel free to bring it along to the meeting.

November Guild Meeting – Tuesday, November 12 at 6:30pm
One of our great fundraisers for the year is back – the Basket Raffle/Quarter Auction! 
This is a great fund-raiser for our guild and a fun night for all. All baskets are donated by our members. If you weren't at the meeting and want to contribute, you can always text Sherry Gorby (937) 414-2457 to add your name. We currently have about 34 baskets and would like to have a few more, so let me know if you're interested. A sincere thank you in advance for your participation and you can always join a few friends together to create and fill a basket.
 
If you've never participated in our basket auction:

1. You need to bring a few dollars and lots of quarters (or we will have some quarters you can buy)
2. As you arrive, you will select 1 or 2 paddles to use during the auction (cost is $1 each)
3. As each basket is “presented” you decide if you want to raise your paddle(s) for a chance to win that basket.

Be sure to bring plenty of quarters! Some baskets will be a 2-quarter basket, some might be 3 or 4-quarter basket. You will need to drop the appropriate number of quarters in the tub at your table based on how many paddles you're playing.  We randomly pull a number until it matches one of the paddle numbers for a winner of the basket.

December Guild Meeting – Tuesday, December 10 at 6:00pm
Join us for a festive evening of fun, food, and a wonderful time together! We are starting a little bit earlier at 6pm. Don't forget your blocks for the Christmas quilt block drive and drawing.

Guild Sew-ins
Did you know regular sew-ins are held at the Fairborn Senior Center? We meet every Monday from 11am – 4pm, plus the second and fourth Fridays of the month from 11am – 4pm. If you are joining to help us sew community quilts, your entry will be free! Otherwise, the cost is $2, but if you’re a member of the Fairborn Senior Center, it’s only $1. Come join the fun!
 
Quilts of Valor
Our upcoming sew-ins are below. Please contact me by email if you plan to attend any sew-ins.

• November 20 at Crestview Baptist Church in Clayton from 10am – 3pm. Bring a lunch, as there is nothing close by.

Just as a reminder, if you know someone who is sick, lost a loved one or could use a little cheer, please send me their name and I will gladly send a card from the guild.
