Hello Miami Valley Quilters' Guild!

​We're looking forward to seeing you and the winning quilts from the quilt show this month. Please bring your ribbon placing quilts to the July meeting so we can celebrate with you. We will start at 6:30 with a hello from our committee chairs to tell you a little more about what each one does in the guild and how you can participate. We will then turn the meeting over to Emilee for a quilt show recap. There is a retreat committee meeting at 5:30pm before the guild meeting. Feel free to join if you are interested in helping with the Fall retreat in 2025.

Upcoming meetings:
July Guild Meeting – Tuesday, July 9 at 6:30pm
Join us for a quilt show review! We will share the results of our biggest guild fundraiser and we’d love for our ribbon winners and “On the Road Again” challenge groups to bring their quilts to be shown off to the group.
                                                              
August Guild Meeting – Tuesday, July 9 at 6:30pm
Back by popular demand, we're ready for an evening full of learning and fun! You'll have the opportunity to rotate through multiple skill stations, hosted by our very own guild members, to teach a skill, technique, show how to use a new tool, and more. 
 
Board Meeting – Thursday, August 8 at 6:00pm
Members are welcome to attend. It will be held in the first-floor conference room at the Wingard Building (492 W Second St, Xenia OH 45385).
 
From the Vice President & Workshops: 
What a wonderful first half of the year we’ve had of speakers, workshops, sew-ins and more. We are going to keep the fun going through the end of the year. Be sure to look at the calendar on our website to learn more about our activities for the rest of the year. 
 
If you have any ideas or requests for types of lectures, workshops or techniques you would like to see scheduled in 2025, please let us know!

Guild Sew-ins
Join us for a fun (and free!) longarm sew-in at Sharing Stitches on Monday, July 15 anytime between 10am – 3pm. You can stop by for 30min, stay for an hour or even all day – whatever works best for you! Not only will you have the chance to try the longarm with great support, but you will also be helping work on the quilts for Ronald McDonald House and Jeremiah’s Letter. Stop by the community quilts table for more information at the meeting or to sign up if you like to join us.
 
Did you know regular sew-ins are held at the Fairborn Senior Center? We meet every Monday from 11am – 4pm, plus the second and fourth Fridays of the month from 11am – 4pm. If you are joining to help us sew community quilts, your entry will be free! Otherwise, the cost is $2, but if you’re a member of the Fairborn Senior Center, it’s only $1. Come join the fun!
 
Quilts of Valor
We are still on a summer break from sew-ins, but we will start back in August. If you are working on something at home, just keep working on it. Please enjoy your summer and stay safe if you do any traveling! I’m still reachable by phone or text. (937) 654-0796 - Leave me a message and I will return your message.

Sunshine ☀️
Just as a reminder, if you know someone who is sick, lost a loved one or could use a little cheer, please send me their name and I will gladly send a card from the guild.
