Hello Miami Valley Quilters' Guild!
 
I'm excited to see all of you at the Christmas party Tuesday, December 10th at the Knob Prairie Church in Enon. Please note, the dinner will begin at 6:00. See the December meeting portion of the newsletter for details on what to bring.
 
Don't forget your Christmas mitten blocks for the raffle. You'll receive 1 ticket for each block you turn in. We've had enough blocks for two winners the last couple of years. 
 
We're looking forward to show and tell this month. Can't wait to see what you've been working on.
 
We'd also like to have a brief retreat committee meeting at 5:30 before the dinner. 
 
Last month, we held our annual board election. I will continue as President, Debbie Miller will be our Vice President, Kim Gros will continue as Treasurer, and Nancy Wilda will continue as Recording Secretary. 
 
Thanks to everyone for a great year. You are amazing and we appreciate you. Merry Christmas to all and a prosperous New Year!

Upcoming meetings:         
December Guild Meeting – Tuesday, December 10 at 6:00pm
Join us for a festive evening of fun, food, and a wonderful time together! Don't forget your blocks for the Christmas mitten quilt block drive and drawing. We’re asking our members with last names ending in A-M to bring a dessert and last names ending N-Z to bring a side or main dish. Your dish should be enough to share with 8-10 people.
In addition to our carry-in we will have games, show and tell, and more! Bring a Christmas ornament if you’d like to participate in the gift exchange.
 
Challenge Kick-Off Gathering - Saturday, January 11 12pm - 6pm 
We are excited to have a 2025 sew-a-long challenge for the guild More details will be shared at our December meeting, but we will have a kick-off together for it on January 11. Please note, this will be located at the Bethel Community Church.
 
January Guild Meeting – Tuesday, January 14 at 6:30pm
Yellow Springs Art Council will be joining us in January to share their “Miami Valley Scenes & Dreams” lecture.
 
Hospitality: 
Everyone has been hard at work preparing for our December meeting. We couldn’t do it without the support from our members and we can’t wait for you to enjoy the night! Please review the information above for the December meeting so you know what to bring. It will be a wonderful event.

From the Vice President & Workshops: 
Thank you for a great two years as Vice President! I am excited to welcome Debbie Miller as the 2025 Vice President. She will continue the coordination of our speakers and workshops, plus begin planning 2026. If you didn’t have a chance to fill out and submit your guild survey, please do so this month. It is attached to this email to print and fill out. 
 
We will be opening sign-ups for our February and March workshops with Kathy Gordon from Kwilty Pleasures! Her workshops will be $40 this month! More details to come during our December meeting.

Membership
It’s that time of year to pay our dues for 2025. You can find your membership form to print and fill out here. You can mail your membership form and $25 fee or pay in person at an upcoming meeting. This email list will be updated after the January meeting to only include our members. Reach out if you have any issues or questions.

Guild Sew-ins
Did you know regular sew-ins are held at the Fairborn Senior Center? We meet every Monday from 11am – 4pm, plus the second and fourth Fridays of the month from 11am – 4pm. If you are joining to help us sew community quilts, your entry will be free! Otherwise, the cost is $2, but if you’re a member of the Fairborn Senior Center, it’s only $1. Come join the fun! 

Quilts of Valor
Our monthly sew-ins are on hold for December, January, and February. We will resume in March. Please contact me by email if you have any questions.

Sunshine ️
Just as a reminder, if you know someone who is sick, lost a loved one or could use a little cheer especially around the holidays, please send me their name and I will gladly send a card from the guild.
