Hello Miami Valley Quilters' Guild!
I hope you all are having an awesome summer. This month we’ll have a fun and interactive skill share. Thank you to Bonnie for coordinating the event and to those who have offered to share a skill! The meeting will begin at 6:30. We'll start with announcements and then have show and tell before we break out into our skill sessions. Don't forget your name tags. We'll be mixing and mingling through the evening, and it will be a great time to get to know one another a little better. :) We also had an amazing donation from a donor we had a couple years ago of a lot of fabric that everyone loved. So we will have a Pop-Up Fabric Sale next week at the meeting! Come a little early to shop and you’ll also be able to shop at the end. Scrap bags are $5 and we also will have books available for $1. Cash or check only. The money raised will support community quilts to finish the quilt tops we have! Hope to see you there! Melody H., president Upcoming meetings: August Guild Meeting – Tuesday, August 13 at 6:30pm Back by popular demand, we're ready for an evening full of learning and fun! You'll have the opportunity to rotate through multiple skill stations, hosted by our very own guild members, to teach a skill, technique, show how to use a new tool, and more. We will also have our Pop-Up Fabric Sale as described above! September Guild Meeting – Tuesday, September 10 at 6:30pm The Redneck Quilter™ will be joining us for a trunk show! Happy Sewing, Patty Hardin, QOV Chair Sunshine ️ Just as a reminder, if you know someone who is sick, lost a loved one or could use a little cheer, please send me their name and I will gladly send a card from the guild. This is a gesture put in place to spread sunshine to our members and will be kept private. Email me at [email protected] or you can call or text me at 937-623-4934. Thank you, Barb Walthall, Sunshine Chair In the Community It’s time for the ‘All Ohio Shop Hop’! The magazines are great – they have free patterns and best of all an amazing list of all the participating shops. It's perfect to have as a reference when you travel, even if you can’t participate in the shop hop. They have a Facebook group here where you can follow along with the fun. One of our guild sponsors, Sharing Stitches, is participating this year, and you can get a book from them.
