Hello Miami Valley Quilters' Guild,
This month we'll enjoy an ice cream social and an evening of fun & games. Feel free to bring your favorite ice cream topping. We'll also have show and tell so bring your latest projects for everyone to enjoy. Don't forget the sew-in planned during the day. If you are newer to the guild, it's a great way to get to know other members. Doors open at 10:00 a.m. and the cost is $5 to cover the cost of the church. We will have quilt tops available for sale this month. These are the donated quilt tops we received last year. We're selling them to raise money to buy batting and backing to finish the remaining quilt tops for donation. These quilt tops are a little larger than the previous ones and will be $25 each cash or check. We still have space available for the August class and October retreat. You can sign up at the meeting. See below for more details. There will be a retreat committee meeting at 5:30pm before the meeting starts. We've also been approached about an all-inclusive Missouri Star bus trip opportunity. Details will be available at the meeting. Our meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month at the Knob Prairie Church in Enon. Doors open at 5:30 and the meeting starts promptly at 6:30. Just a reminder that our meetings are scent free. Hope to see you there! We will also have show and tell for all our members quilts in the 2025 Petal Party Sew-along & Round Robin Challenge. This uses block patterns designed by Angela. Members will have a chance to vote for your favorite quilt during peer voting in the meeting. Angela will be hosting her Blue Ridge Love workshop the following day. From the Vice President & Workshops: The website calendar is updated through the end of the year. Be sure to check out our great line up for the year so far, including a couple more workshops! Thank you, Connie M, Fall Retreat Chair Petal Party Challenge Group Happy Fourth of July! It has been hot outside, but the real heat is inside! All the petal parties have been baking away. I have only seen a few of the Petal party projects but the members have mad skills. I know that from the simplest to the most elaborate, it is stunning. The heat is turned on and I can't wait to see the surprises you all have for our August speaker! Angela Huffman will be here with her presentation. If you could use an index card to write your artist statement on and turn those in to me at our July meeting; Please include the size of your item on the back of the card. We will have a show and tell to remember! I would like to see if we have room to display them or if we will need to do our usual show and tell. If anyone has portable Quilt racks that we could use for our August meeting that would be great. Please let me know. Mary Ann, Petal Party Challenge Coordinator In the Community A Missouri Star Quilt Company bus trip has been planned in the area. Bus pick-ups are in Clayton and Findlay. The bus trip is August 25-28. If you’re interested, you can view the flyer here for more information. Please note this is not a guild event, we are just sharing the information.
