Hello Miami Valley Quilters' Guild,
Join us this month as we welcome Alicia Thomas of the Virginia Quilt Museum. See below for details. We should have plenty of time for show and tell. I can't wait to see what you all have been working on this year. If you won a stack of mitten blocks at the Christmas party, please bring your completed quilt top to the June meeting. We'd love to see them! And you will receive $25 towards finishing the quilt. SAVE THE DATE! Registration will begin soon for our first fall retreat October 11th-13th. See below for all the details. We still have a few quilt kits for Ronald McDonald House. The kit includes a finished top, batting and backing. They need to be quilted and bound. If you're willing to quilt it, we have people that will bind. See below for details on how many quilts were donated by The Guild last year. You all are amazing! ❤️ We are still looking for someone interested in co-chairing the QOV committee with Patty. See QOV section below for more information. We're sorry you did not receive a newsletter last month. We appreciate your patience as we continue to try to keep you updated on upcoming events. (Lindsay apologizes – she was working through her last few weeks of her degree and finals got much busier than expected). But thank you to Lindsay for the awesome job that she does every other month! Hope to see you at the meeting. Melody H., President Upcoming meetings: May Guild Meeting – Tuesday, May 13 at 6:30pm Alicia Thomas, Executive Director of the Virginia Quilt Museum will provide a lecture on the "History of Quilting." She will share an assortment of quilts from the education collection. Visit www.vaquiltmuseum.org for more information about the Virginia Quilt Museum collections and tours. June Guild Meeting – Tuesday, June 10 at 6:30pm Roxie Fiske with the Yellow Springs Art Council will be joining us to share about their “Miami Valley Scenes & Dreams” lecture. Plus, we will be showing off our wonderful Plaidish quilt tops created in our workshops with Kathy Gordon earlier this year! From the Vice President & Workshops: The website calendar is updated through the end of the year. Be sure to check out our great line up for the year so far, including a couple more workshops! There will be a one-day workshop called Blueridge Borders by Angela Huffman of Quilted Joy in August. There will also be a two-day workshop with the Redneck Quilter in October! More details to come for each but save the date in the meantime. Thank you, Debbie M., Vice President Quilts of Valor: If anyone has any QOV quilts or blocks still, please bring it to the May meeting or send me an update. Also, as a reminder, I’m looking for some help with the QOV program, if you know someone that is interested, please let me know. This person could potentially help with tasks they are interested in, like helping create block kits, putting together backings, helping with presentations, etc. Learn more about our QOV program and committee here or connect with me at our next meeting. Our upcoming sew-ins are below. Please contact me by email if you plan to attend any sew-ins. May:

Thank you, Carol G., Community Quilts chair Sunshine ☀️ Just as a reminder, if you know someone who is sick, lost a loved one or could use a little cheer especially around the holidays, please send me their name and I will gladly send a card from the guild. This is a gesture put in place to spread sunshine to our members and will be kept private. Email me at [email protected] or you can call or text me at 937-623-4934. Thank you, Barb Walthall, Sunshine Chair 2025 Fall Quilt Retreat Our next quilt retreat is Saturday, October 11 – Monday, October 13!
